Personal Finance

In progress

Expenses, income and goals in one place.

What’s ready

  • A monthly dashboard with what is left, how much of the income is already committed and a comparison with the previous month.
  • Income and expense entries, fixed bills that repeat and installment purchases.
  • Reports with the month summary, cash flow, spending by category and by card and upcoming payments.
  • Adding an entry in a few taps, on the phone.
  • A mobile-first layout, with light and dark themes.

This page is updated as the project moves forward.

The problem

Tracking money month by month in a spreadsheet takes effort and is slow to answer simple questions, like how much came in, how much is still going out and how much is left.

Who it’s for

People who still track their finances in a spreadsheet and want to know, at any point in the month, where the money goes.

What it does

  • Income and expense entries, with category, account and paid or pending.
  • Fixed bills that repeat on their own every month, without duplicates.
  • Installment purchases, with the future installments created at once.
  • A monthly summary, compared with the previous month.

Where it stands

The project started from a personal finance spreadsheet that tracks salary, fixed bills, installment purchases and variable spending month by month. The goal is to turn it into a web system that answers three questions: how much came in, how much is going out and how much is left.

It is under construction and for personal use. There is no public version yet.

Next step

Keep building the monthly dashboard and the future-spending view.
